Job Summary: Our building materials company is seeking to hire an Accounts Receivable Clerk to assist with billing, A/R, and data entry. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in accounting principles and possess excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.

This role is an entry-level position, and the candidate will report directly to the Accounting Coordinator.

Essential Functions

• Work with our warehouse team to invoice purchase orders.
• Confirm and add freight charges where applicable.
• Enter purchase orders into QuickBooks.
• Check, audit, and send invoices to customers.
• Verify customer pricing, discounts, and freight charges.
• Conduct collection calls and/or correspondence with all customers nationwide.
• Filing and basic clerical duties.

Other Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Accounts Payable, and other departments.
• Collaborate with the CEO as needed.
• Assist Accounting and Warehouse managers with special projects and analysis.

Qualifications

• 1 years of finance or accounting-related experience in a small to mid-sized company.
• Experience working with QuickBooks online.
• Experience using Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word and Outlook.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Highly organized with strong time management and prioritizing skills.
• Experience in data entry.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time, 40-hours-per-week position. The typical work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5 PM.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

• Accounting experience: 1 years (certified or a degree; verification is mandatory).
• Excel: 1 years.
• References of prior work history with accounting, invoicing, and A/R are mandatory.

Work Environment: This position works in an office setting, with some exposure to the adjoining warehouse. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, and filing cabinets.

Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. This is a largely sedentary role with hours spent in front of a computer screen and keyboard. However, some printing and filing are required, which would require the ability to lift files, open file cabinets, and perhaps bend or stand, as necessary.
