The Role:
The Materials Operations Director is accountable for leading the Materials Operations department to support the goals to Make Assess and Release multiple Drug Substances at the site. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
SCOPE
The work product from the Director of Material Operations will directly support product revenue and other programs executed in the network, will be a major driver for Manufacturing expenses, and will highly impact operational and transportation costs of external operations.
This role has both strategic supply execution and tactical planning responsibilities for the Novato Site with a focus on operational readiness, alignment of site activities and the short to mid-term plan (1-2-year range). The Director of Material Operations reports to the VP of Novato Operations and is a member of the Novato Site Leadership Team.
Required Education: Bachelors in Life Science, Business, Operations Management, or Industrial Engineering required.
Preferred Education: APICS certification and/or supply chain education preferred but not required.
Other continuing education initiatives highly desirable (e.g. Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, industry specific coursework).
