Materials Director directs operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Estimates material requirements using data and analysis of orders, inventory levels, economic trends, and supplier sources to develop long-range plans to ensure the required flow of materials. Being a Materials Director coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations to improve operational efficiencies and workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Requires a bachelor's degree. Additionally, Materials Director typically reports to a director. The Materials Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Materials Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Overview

    Drives truck with float semi-trailer for transporting mobile equipment. Loads and unloads various pieces of mobile equipment before and after transportation.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Drive the truck to the destination safely and efficiently.
    • Operates various mobile equipment safely to load and unload it to and from the semi-trailer.
    • Maintain telephone or radio contact with the supervisor.
    • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
    • Responsible for daily pre-trip inspection of truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
    • Must oil, grease, service, and regular operating equipment adjustments.
    • May perform other related duties, such as lifting and moving transported materials.
    • We are covering / uncovering the load, changing wheels, and loosening / tightening lugs.

    Skills & Experience

    • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
    • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
    • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
    • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
    • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.
    • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Must possess, or be able to obtain, current DOT Medical Qualification.
    • An air brake skills test is required for all vehicles that have air brakes.
    • Must meet Driver Qualification Standards for RK Hall Construction.
    • You must safely drive each mobile piece of equipment on and off the trailer and secure it for transport.
    • RK Hall, LLC conducts post-conditional offer background checks, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

    Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
