Overview

Element has an opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineer -EMI at our Rockford, IL lab, whose primary responsibility is to perform EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) tests, and use standard and precision instrumentation to take measurements of electronic, electro-mechanical equipment and subsystems in an EMI laboratory setting.

Salary Range: $28.00 - $37.00 USD Hourly

Responsibilities

• Conduct a variety of EMC and RF tests which includes setting up test equipment and customer equipment, performing testing to applicable test plans or standards such as RTCA/DO-160, MIL-STD, IEC and/or CISPR standards 
• Apply basic knowledge of electrical circuits and basic electronic components
• Maintain detailed and accurate logbook
• Understand customer test plans and how to properly follow laboratory technical procedures and test specifications
• Setup test equipment, and follow written specifications necessary for the proper performance of the test
• Maintain in-depth knowledge of test standards, product test procedures, and instrumentation
• Accurately observe and records test progress and results.  Organize and document data for each assigned project
• Interacts with customers during the testing process, periodically assist with troubleshooting and development modifications 

Skills / Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or similar Engineering related field preferred
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in electrical engineering preferred
• Strong EMC electronic testing capabilities
• Knowledge of EMC Standards and regulations
• Must be able to commute to Rockford and Chicago labs
• 2-4 Years of Experience
