Applies knowledge of material science to recommend engineering and manufacturing changes to attain design objectives in the most economical manner possible. Being a Materials Engineer reviews blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate materials needed to achieve successful completion of initiatives. May require a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Materials Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager.     Overview

    Drives truck with float semi-trailer for transporting mobile equipment. Loads and unloads various pieces of mobile equipment before and after transportation.

    Roles & Responsibilities

    • Drive the truck to the destination safely and efficiently.
    • Operates various mobile equipment safely to load and unload it to and from the semi-trailer.
    • Maintain telephone or radio contact with the supervisor.
    • Maintain truck log according to state and federal regulations.
    • Responsible for daily pre-trip inspection of truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes, gas, oil, and water.
    • Must oil, grease, service, and regular operating equipment adjustments.
    • May perform other related duties, such as lifting and moving transported materials.
    • We are covering / uncovering the load, changing wheels, and loosening / tightening lugs.

    Skills & Experience

    • Display a professional and courteous attitude to co-workers, supervisors, and the public.
    • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
    • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
    • Report to the assigned job site in proper attire and ready to begin work at the designated start time.
    • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Policies, Programs & Procedures Manual.
    • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

    • Must possess, or be able to obtain, current DOT Medical Qualification.
    • An air brake skills test is required for all vehicles that have air brakes.
    • Must meet Driver Qualification Standards for RK Hall Construction.
    • You must safely drive each mobile piece of equipment on and off the trailer and secure it for transport.
    • RK Hall, LLC conducts post-conditional offer background checks, fitness for duty evaluation, and pre-employment drug testing.

    EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE :

    Less than high school education; or up to six months related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education or experience.
