Materials Engineer plans for the most cost-effective utilization of materials. Applies knowledge of material science to recommend engineering and manufacturing changes to attain design objectives in the most economical manner possible. Being a Materials Engineer reviews blueprints and specifications to determine the appropriate materials needed to achieve successful completion of initiatives. May require a bachelor's degree in engineering. Additionally, Materials Engineer typically reports to a supervisor or manager. Key Accountabilities:
· Accurately remove and stock product, customer’s product, and various supplies according to inventory plan
· Accurately select product to fill customer orders and package them properly
· Load and unload trucks and verify that correct items are loaded and unloaded
· Identify, hold and segregate defective material
· Complete paperwork per work instructions, when required
· Perform general clean up
· Inspect forklift at the beginning of every shift; report issues to immediate supervisor or other designated personnel
· Participate, support and comply with all health, safety, ISO and 6S Initiatives and requirements
· Assist in any other duties to support the operation, as requested by supervisor or team lead
· Train others when required

Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
· High school diploma/GED
· Ability to read and write English (in Quebec, must read and write French)
· Ability to lift and carry up to 70 lbs for 100 feet
· Ability to perform basic math skills
· Previous forklift certification
· Must be able to sit for long periods of time and perform bending, twisting, squatting,
reaching and grasping motions
Preferred Requirements:
· Use of hand held measuring tools
· Basic computer skills and knowledge, such as with database programs and Microsoft
