Rantec is located in Los Osos, California is an upper-tier designer and manufacturer of power supplies for the military and aerospace markets. We are an engineering-based company, with expertise in all aspects of power supply design, manufacturing and test.
Position Summary
Responsible for management of a Purchasing team, TCO (total cost of ownership) approach to procurement, supplier forecast planning, continuous improvement of SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), KPI’s (Key Performance Indicators) and the coordination of product delivery through the production system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Manage team of buyers with assigned commodities.
- Active participation in supplier development.
- Maintain and status part shortages and mitigation plans.
- Identify delays and work together with planning to ensure timely customer delivery.
- Supervise souring and first article process for new suppliers.
- Collaborate with Rantec Engineering & Quality along with Suppliers to establish PDR (Preliminary Design Review) and PRR (Production Readiness Review) processes.
- Identify cost saving opportunities.
- Establish and manage DMS (Dimensioning Manufacturing Sources) plans
MRP / ERP:
- Support current MRP (Material Requirements Planning) system and planning tools
- Key stakeholder / leader for 2023-2024 ERP/MRP implementation
- Develop KPI’s and standard reporting.
Organizational Development:
- Ensure Purchasing group is properly staffed with qualified, motivated individuals who can support the company’s needs
- Strengthen the communication and engagement of the staff and their ability to support each other and other functions of the business
- Ensure processes are documented and personnel are cross trained in functions such that no single point of knowledge exists
General
- Identify and implement continuous improvement projects
- Work within a Multi-Site operation
- Develop standard operation procedures
- Proven experience managing and reporting metrics
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university required. Engineering, Supply Chain or Technical major is preferred. Master’s degree or MBA is a plus.
- 7 years of relevant work experience in a manufacturing environment and currently managing in a similar capacity.
- 3 years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Solid knowledge of data analysis, supplier development, and commodity management.
- Knowledge of Materials Requirement Planning (MRP), Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
- Candidate will be able to maintain organization in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
Salary Range: $79,000 - $103,000 Annually
