Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Job Summary
The Dock and Door Helper under supervision of the Lead Dock Door Technician, will be responsible assisting the Lead Dock Door Technician for on-site inspection and the removal, installation and repairs of customer’s dock levelers, locks and doors. Will enter the necessary information on work orders and work order summary as required. Will represent Shoppa’s Material Handling and requires professionalism, great attitude, good communication skills and outstanding customer service.
Essential Functions:
1. Takes direction from Lead Technicians regarding actions needed to resolve customer satisfaction concerns.
2. Responsible for following company safety rules as well as maintaining job site safety. Escalates any concerns to the Lead Technicians.
3. Provide excellent customer service at the site
4. Assist with the inspection of levelers, locks and doors
5. Assist with repairing all work order requests
6. Assist with the installation of dock levelers, locks and doors
7. Quality control of each job to ensure completeness
8. Work independently as well as in a team
9. Represent Shoppa’s with a courteous professional manner
