Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. This position is a highly visible position with leadership of a multi-talented team.This position will oversee and coordinate daily warehouse activities such as receiving and storing goods, managing inventory levels, ensuring the efficient delivery of goods, supervising staff, Support the Production team and securing the warehouse.Duties/Responsibilities:EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: *
High School Diploma or GED required, * Minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar Supervisory or Warehouse Management role is required, *Experience in a manufacturing environment and with MRP/ERP systems and related processes * Experience in the operation/supervision of cranes and mobile material handling equipment recommended * Familiarity with SAP ERP or other MRP software a plus.
