Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. Job Summary
This position is responsible for supporting and guiding technicians through career growth through engaging, mentoring, and reviewing skillset proficiencies, training opportunities. The Field Service Support Supervisor will build long-lasting relationships with customers by exploring their needs and expectations, providing specific measurable goals, and achieving results within a customer's expected timeframe. The ideal candidate will proactively communicate with the associates, managers, and customers on repairs, job requirements and scheduled work.
General Duties and Responsibilities
Support Technicians while in the field; including technician needs, efficiencies, training
Track open repair orders and ensure timely follow-up
Customer visits; including service disputes, quote follow up and customer relations
Monitor daily PM completion/repairs for team while ensuring quality and timeliness of PM completion/repairs exceeds customer expectations
Operate in a professional and courteous manner to exceed customer expectations both in presentation and communication
Promote ProLift Toyota Material Handling's philosophies, vision, strategies and value of "Doing the Right Thing"; Promote the TLM "Toyota Lean Management" philosophy
Educational/Job Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a High School Diploma or equivalent, two or more years of material handling industry experience, one to three years of supervisory experience, and basic mechanical experience. The Field Service Support Supervisor will have proficient knowledge of Microsoft products such as Word, Outlook, and Excel and Office 365. The ideal candidate will communicate to associates, customers, and managers, which requires excellent verbal and written communication skills while protecting the organization's values by maintaining confidential information utilizing their ability to handle sensitive information.
