Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision.   • Job Summary

    The Materials Coordinator position is responsible for vendor evaluations and material procurement and management of all required commissioning tools and consumables for GATE Energy (as required) and on a project assignment basis. The position will be responsible for asset management, maintenance work planning and scheduling, and spare part inventory using GATE and/or client software package and tools. The position responsibilities are subject to change as project/GATE Energy needs are dictated.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Set-up reoccurring meetings with between GATE and client engineering representatives to identify all material/spares information: Vendor/OEM information, P&IDs, project milestones, systems, skid, equipment, tag numbers, completion dates.
    • Consult with GATE leads, engineering, and previous spares material reports to verify OEM requested parts are sufficient type and quantities.
    • Administer material management system for managing and tracking based on System Hierarchy
      • PO > Vendor > System > Milestone > P&ID > Skid Tag > Equipment Tag > Part Number > Item Description > Container > Bin Location > etc.
    • Work with purchasing department to create receiving schedule.
    • Work with OEM to create preservation plan and schedule.
    • Update and enforce safety plan for materials requiring heavy lift or special requirements.
      • Daily JSA plan
    • Receiving spares materials
      • Once materials are received, verify packing list matches PO and quantities match PO and packing list.
      • Review MSDS for proper handling and storage
      • Verify no damaged or short items.
      • Store in warehouse or container based on milestones.
      • Update material database with container number, bin location, and current quantity, date received.
      • OS&D report back to purchasing for reconciliation.
      • Daily update with purchasing department for material and PO closeout
    • Preservation of Materials / Consumables and Spares
      • Create plan and schedule for preservation of materials based on type.
    • Send weekly report of received materials and status to Commissioning manager/Project manager.
    • Commissioning/engineering interface meeting
    • Provide high level overview of spares status

    Experience & Education

    • Minimum 3 years’ experience working in materials management/coordination and an understanding of standard work process preferred.
    • Bachelor's degree with professional qualifications preferred or equivalent training in materials management and maintenance.
    • Exceptional organizational skills
    • Effective interpersonal skills with ability communicate/manage well at all levels.
    • Experience in a dynamic, high-growth, rapidly changing organization
    • Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.
    • Must work well with others in team environment.
    • Exhibit professionalism and be customer focused.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

    Physical Requirements

    Ability to pass a background check / drug screen and physical.
