Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. POSTING: A material handling manufacturer seeks a CAD Operator for their Mid-Michigan location. This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic, experienced and motivated person. Strong communication and organizational skills, as well as attention to detail, will ensure success. This position reports to the General Manager and will be responsible for all manufacturing drawings, drawing changes, involved in product design, costing and document control for DEQ. Job responsibilities include the following: • Review product drawings for accuracy, make necessary corrections, issue corrected copies to manufacturing. • Develop and recommend enhancements to products and process improvements. • Design and draw new products/fixtures and implement an orderly transition of those product designs into manufacturing. • Establish applicable Bills of Materials, routings and standard cost. • Must be able to work in a fast-paced production environment while implementing changes and assisting all team members with continual process improvements. • Interact with sales, customers and suppliers in a technical support role. An ideal candidate possesses the following: • Documented experience working with metal fabrication and welding. • AutoCAD (2013) and Inventor 3D experience is required • Associate’s Degree is required, Bachelor’s Degree preferred, in a similar position or related field. • Previous Quality Assurance and ISO experience a plus. • Exposure to continuous improvement initiatives in design, fixtures, quality and manufacturing • Effective project and time management skills • Outstanding interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills • Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving ability. • Knowledge of sourcing the proper materials, suppliers and components Salary Range: DOE plus competitive benefit package.
