Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. In this role you will be a member of the operational leadership team reporting to the Operations Manager or General Manager and perform a variety of leadership responsibilities within the department to ensure timely and accurate test results are delivered.

    Salary: $70K-$85K/yr

     

    Responsibilities

    • Setting and releasing initial schedule for production to floor
    • Responsible for the coordination of schedules and plans with other company departments to provide for efficient workflow
    • Monitoring product from release to floor to delivery to customer - Ownership of Physical and Digital Production Flow
    • Transmit production performance statistics/concerns to Department Manager and make recommendations for improvement
    • Place critical Purchase Orders for materials, services, and consumables, while tracking and ensure incoming receipt
    • Manage day-to-day operations of a materials testing department
    • Maintain high levels of accuracy in your daily department operations
    • Review testing services and promote additional capacity and process improvement
    • Translate technical requirements of the client into providing pricing, timing and technical knowledge for quoting and commercial efforts
    • Engaging with customers to review technical, schedule, and operational needs
    • Assists in development and transmissions of operating plan and strategic plan
    • Communicate with customers based on delivery schedule and shifting priorities
    • Continuously communicating with various internal and external stakeholders regarding needs and updates

    • Aerospace experience a plus
    • Ability to remain calm when faced with mounting pressure related to deadlines and multiple priorities
    • Self-directed and detail oriented
    • knowledge of Non-Destructive Testing is a plus
    • Willingness to work overtime when asked based on schedule and customer needs
