Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. About Matt's Building Materials: We are a family-owned lumberyard and home improvement center in the RGV. We are determined to provide our customers with top-tier building materials at competitive prices. As we prepare to reopen our flagship store in Pharr, we are looking for new faces to join our growing team.
Job Description: We are looking to hire 3 people as sales associates at our new store in Pharr. We have positions available in our Flooring department. As a flooring sales associate you would help customers find the product that they are looking for, answer any questions they may have, as well as maintain your department (stock shelves, keep it cleaned/organized).
Key Responsibilities:
Schedule: This is a full-time position (36-40 hours a week). We have two shifts that you would need to be available for (morning shift 7:30am – 3:00pm or afternoon shift 10:00am – 6:00pm).
Physical Requirements: Our inside sales positions require moderate physical exertion. You will be on your feet most of the day while you assist customers, and you would also be responsible for stocking shelves with products that can weigh more than 50-lbs.
Qualifications & Skills: We are looking for candidates that have previous retail sales experience. No experience with hardware, building materials, or home improvement is necessary, but it is a plus.
Compensation & Commission: Our sales staff are paid an hourly wage commission based on sales. All applicants will start at $10.00 per hour, commission can range between $200 – $1000 per month.
