Job Summary :

The Special Handling Associate plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our UPS station, overseeing overnight processes, and providing essential support in various areas of the packaging and mailing operations.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, proficiency in computer applications, and a commitment to upholding quality control procedures.

General Duties / Responsibilities :

• Utilize UPS station for overnight shipments and oversee related procedures.
• Fill in for the IM Packer and assist with handstuffing operations as needed.
• Manage requests for damages via Excel, email, and Word, showcasing strong computer skills.
• Adhere to Standard Work and Quality Control (QC) procedures, completing all necessary documentation and computer functions accurately.
• Collaborate closely with departments such as Pressroom, Mail Dispatch, Warehouse, and Customer Service to ensure seamless operations.
• Handle certified mailing and manage tasks such as 'no mails' and jobs without taglines (LASER).
• Stay updated with manual return mail processes and ensure compliance with safety standards and OSHA regulations.
• Maintain cleanliness and adhere to 5S standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
• Exhibit strong communication skills and a willingness to cross-train in various roles.
• Track and manage workload effectively while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and cutoff times.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently in a standalone position, while also contributing to team objectives.

Education / Experience :

• High School Diploma or , vocational or technical school diploma or certificate
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, Word, and email.
• Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Willingness to undergo cross-training and learn new processes.
• Understanding of SLAs and cutoff times in a mailing environment.
