Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Management Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Materials Management Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Management Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. EDUCATION
High School Diploma or equivalency.
EXPERIENCE
One (1) year of warehouse experience required. One (1) year of experience in this job to become proficient.
JOB KNOWLEDGE
Knowledge of material handling, shipping, and receiving procedures is preferred.
ABILITIES& SKILLS
Must have the ability to use some heavy equipment and light machinery. Must have the ability to use the Cooperative's accounting, work order, requisition, and barcoding systems and other computer systems adopted by the Cooperative efficiently. Must be skilled at Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word to maintain communications and records as needed. Must have the ability to use some office machines such as personal computers, adding machines, calculators, etc. Must maintain a S. C. driver's license. Must maintain an OSHA certified forklift certificate. Must be able to proficiently use NISC daily.
CERTIFICATION
Must be Forklift Train-the-Trainer OSHA certified.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Inside and outside job. Must be available during weekends, nights and when severe storms exist. Climbing, stooping, bending, and lifting heavy objects weighing up to 100 pounds required. Regular working hours with some overtime required.
