Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Management Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Materials Management Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Management Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. Primary responsibilities include assisting with the buying of supplies,
order tracking, entry of statistical data reports, computer updates, and
clerical functions involved with the Materials Management Department. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Education, Required Licenses/Certifications: Associates Degree is highly
desirable. Work Experience, Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Experience in a
stock room or receiving setting is desirable. Must be able to read and
comprehend purchase orders, receiving reports, bills of lading, inventory
listings and requisitions. Must have good computer skills and a willingness to
learn new automated systems. Must be willing and able to adapt to a dynamic
work environment. Must be willing to travel and work at multiple locations
within the NCH footprint. In lieu of a formal education, appropriate work
experience may be substituted. Familiarity with computer applications required.
Must have technical aptitude and a willingness to learn software applications
