Summary:

Primary responsibilities for the Materials Supervisor are to ensure raw materials and other items needed for production are delivered to the appropriate work area and tracked in a timely manner.

Job Duties:

Duties include leading the Materials Team employees in transferring material between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, and assisting with the receipts of in-bound material facilities, placement of raw materials in proper storage areas, processing all documentation to ensure inventory accuracy, maintain records and coordinate with production, purchasing, accounting, planning, scheduling and logistics to maintain adequate inventory to meet production needs. Train, supervise and provide support to material handlers on all shifts.

• Manage employee performance and conduct performance evaluations timely
• Work with HR to provide disciplinary actions to Materials Team
• Check and approve time cards and PTO requests of material handlers
• Interview and select candidates for hire
• Plan and direct activities of employees on Materials Team
• Prepare work area at the beginning of the shift and ensuring that is ready and clean for the next shift which include replenishing necessary materials and paperwork
• Ensure stock and supplies are delivered to appropriate work areas as requested
• Wrap and prepare inner company transfers
• Breakdown incoming shipments of raw materials (warehouse transferred or newly received)
• Manage low stock level concerns
• Unload and load PLI truck
• Collect and prepare recycle material for shipment and gather/dispose of trash in the warehouse
• Log pull sheets
• Track all jobs and double check paperwork for accuracy
• Deliver shipments to and from PLI warehouses and main plant as needed
• Load scrap trailer, gaylords, storage containers
• Organize stock, front stock, wrap stock, and label cards
• Keep dock cleared and ready for incoming shipments
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition and follow prescribed safety regulations.
• Safely perform physical demands as indicated.
• Perform these and other duties as assigned.
• Work mandatory overtime as needed to meet customer needs.

Qualifications:

• Valid driver license
• Three to five-year factory related experience in both shipping and receiving.
• One year experience as a Lead or Supervisor
• Experience with material handling equipment including Forklift and Pallet Jack

Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

• Required to read and write in English
• Strong communication skills
• Basic computer skills and ability to communicate via e-mail
