Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Troubleshoots and resolves operational roadblocks. Additionally, Materials Management Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Materials Management Supervisor supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Management Supervisor typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. RESPONSIBILITIES: |
· Responsible tear-down of pallets on Medline delivery days. · Responsible for removing and stacking pallets on loading dock. · Utilizes initiative to respond to customer needs across clinical and non-clinical areas. · Responsible to monitor & respond to messages left on stockroom phone. · Responsible for put away of supplies in correct bin locations, replenishment and removal of packaging material. · Responsible for daily Par of assigned locations. · Tracking and monitoring inventory stock-outs. · Maintains a rapport with clinical staff in assigned area. · Responsible for timely delivery of products / packages to assigned clinical locations. · Accountable for following FIFO inventory methodology. · Interface with key buyer: backorders, substitutes and inventory information on critical products · Responsible for insuring bin labels are legible, accurate and match bin contents. · Monitors the expiration dates of sterile commodities following JCAHO guidelines, by rotating stock and visually checking expiration dates, to ensure usage or return to inventory prior to expiring. · Perform month and year end inventory audits/cycle counts of assigned areas. · Performs monthly Stockroom inventory reconciliation to insure dollars and SKU accuracy. · Participates in monthly meeting with Supply Chain Director for review of inventory adjustments. · Responsible for end of shift housekeeping of assigned stockroom location · Shared responsibilities for sorting and distribution of mail as scheduled.
