Materials Manager manages the raw material planning processes to ensure an organization operates efficiently. Ensures raw materials are available to meet designated production schedules. Being a Materials Manager utilizes MRP system to manage material planning from purchasing, processing, warehousing, and production. Develops forecasts for raw material needs by considering purchases, production rates, and maintenance schedules. Additionally, Materials Manager coordinates with stakeholders in purchasing and inventory control when adjustments are needed and troubleshoots complex issues as necessary. Maintains supplier relationships and may negotiate lead times. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Materials Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Materials Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. In partnership with a leading aviation company here in the Mariana, CA area, we are looking to add Composite Inspectors to our growing team.
Pay rate = $26-32 per hour
Shift = 1st - working 8a-4:30p Mon-Fri
In this role, not only will you be working for an industry leader in the aviation industry, but you will also have the opportunity to accelerate your career in manufacturing. The primary responsibility of our Composite Inspectors is to perform incoming, in-process and final inspection of composite materials and parts.
Additional job responsibilities include:
In-process inspection during the layup process for composite material
Perform final inspection on completed composite parts and work order packages
General knowledge of ASME Y14.5M, working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) to ensure compliance with client and product specification
Identify/recognize inspection errors and non-conformances - including completion of required documentation regarding nonconformance
Qualified candidates must have:
2 years of composite or mechanical inspection experience in the aviation/aerospace industry
High-school diploma or GED
Ability to read and interpret blueprints along with understanding types of measurement, terminology and the different types of measurement scales
Experience using hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, scales and the like.
General understanding of traceability (product, material and calibration)
Strong math skills - including measurement conversions
