Materials Planner

TUTCO Inc, a leading manufacturer of heating elements used in the HVAC and Appliance industry, has an immediate opening for a Materials Planner at their Cookeville, TN facility. TUTCO Inc. is a Subsidiary of Smiths Group plc with headquarters in London, England.

Qualifications:

We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated self-starters with an excellent work ethic. Candidates must possess the ability to learn quickly and effectively in our highly technical, ever changing competitive business.

• Bachelor’s degree required, APICS certification a plus
• Minimum 1 year of purchasing, production scheduling, or logistics experience in a manufacturing environment; MRP experience required
• Knowledge and application of manufacturing operating systems
• Strong attention to detail; highly organized
• Excellent computer and analytical skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

Primary Responsibilities:

• Create and maintain production schedules utilizing Syteline system to fulfill customer requirements and delivery expectations.
• Balance production efficiency with customer service
• Issue purchase agreements, purchase orders, and purchase order releases as required to communicate and support production material requirements
• Support the organization through activities focused on sourcing and cost reduction
• Create and execute plans to improve supplier performance
• Determine and maintain acceptable inventory levels
• Ability to work with manufacturing and engineering representatives to ensure timely, accurate and seamless communications across the company
• Create and maintain reports and charts as required
• Continuous Improvement in all areas of responsibility
• Perform other duties as assigned
