Position Summary:
24 hour responsibility/accountability for overseeing the Maternity department: Labor and Delivery, SCN, FCC, and Child Birth Education. In collaboration with the CNO, monitors and reports trends in patient population/acuity and manages Human Resources accordingly. Rounds on assigned areas to assess for adherence to standards of care & practice, e.g., individualized care plans and adherence to Standards of Care. Designs, implements and evaluates innovative systems that support efficient delivery of patient care, develops and is accountable for approved budget, assesses staff competence and educational needs in relation to changing patient needs via clinical pertinence, medical record review, patient and family visits, physician feedback and periodic visits to off-shifts. The leader must play a role in nurturing employees and promoting a culture of compassion, respect and collaboration.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in nursing required.
Experience: Clinical competence with a minimum of three years’ experience in nursing, with a specialty in Labor and Delivery. Demonstrated knowledge of clinical and professional practice issues and processes.
Certification/Licensure: Current MA RN licensure. BLS and ACLS
Software/Hardware: Microsoft Office, Meditech
