The Labor and Delivery Surgical Technologist will be responsible for assisting the Obstetricians and Gynecologists in the operating room and Labor and Delivery Department. They must be knowledgeable of human anatomy and they should pay attention to detail and remain vigilant by keeping strict  sterile techniques. The Surgical Tech must remain calm and composed in stressful situations and provide top quality care. The Surgical Technologist  for Maternity Services must stay up to date on education, making sure all hospital and unit based competencies are met.

Educational requirements for this position include Certifications from the National Board of Surgical Technology and BLS. The Surgical Technologist should also ideally have at least 1 year of clinical experience in an acute care hospital Operating Room.
