Maternity Services Director is responsible for the maternity unit and all sub-unit operations and staffing. Coordinates activities related to labor, delivery, recovery, postpartum, and the baby nursery. May direct community outreach programs to deliver women's health information and education. Additionally, Maternity Services Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. Requires registered nurse (RN). The Maternity Services Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Utah Regional Director, Residential/Hourly/Family Services

  • PURPOSE:

    Responsible for the direction and management of the regional RISE Residential/Hourly/Family Service programs. The Regional Director provides guidance and coaching to state regional management team to assist them in achieving competency in the performance of their job requirements in a manner consistent with the RISE Mission, Vision, and Values. Responsible for the fiscal management and goals of the regional state program. Ensures compliance with all RISE corporate and state policies and procedures and other legal and regulatory requirements.

    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Bachelor’s degree in human services related field or equivalent experience and three years’ experience required working in the field
    • 2 – 3 years’ experience in supervision, coaching, and training.
    • Familiarity with the developmental disability system, and children and adults with developmental disabilities, or ability and willingness to learn.
    • The ability to create innovative program solutions for people with disabilities.
    • Experience implementing systems to monitor program policy/procedure and contractual compliance
    • Must possess superb verbal and written communication skills and ability to communicate effectively in individual or group situations including demonstrating listening skills
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing using accurate grammatical form and able to read and interpret written information
    • Ability to maintain accurate documentation and interpret all policy and licensing rules.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks and competing priorities.
    • Ability to take initiative to make process and program improvements.
    • Ability to create opportunities for and within RISE programs
    • Ability to write all necessary materials and communications relevant to the position and other required written material
    • Ability to build relationships and to communicate with multiple customers including the people receiving support, professional parents, advisors, natural parents, state personnel and others
    • Familiarity with medical and psychological terminology, teaching principles, human behavior or principles of psychology
    • Ability to prepare programmatic budgets and interpret budget results

    • Must be a minimum of twenty-one years of age and meet requirements as specified by RISE Insurance Agency
    • Must be able to complete a successful background check, driving record check through the State of Utah

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

    STAFF/PROGRAM

    • Provides management and supervision of management team in a manner that meets and exceeds the expectation of RISE customers
    • As a supervisor, assure that employees effectively perform the essential functions of their positions and ensure that assistance provided to people receiving support is done through the implementation of the RISE mission, vision, and values and according to the supports RISE is contracted to provide
    • Knowledgeable of and assures that programs meet expectations of RISE corporate and state policies and procedures; and all requirements of funding agencies
    • Ensures a training system, which prepares staff to deliver quality supports and meet funding source requirements, is in place and actively utilized
    • Demonstrate pro-active and effective advocacy for people with disabilities and those receiving support from RISE
    • Creates new and innovative service models for people with disabilities based on individual choice
    • Creates an environment where employees feel comfortable taking risks and sharing new ideas; build strong team and instructs staff in team building skills
    • Promotes and develops new area of service resulting in increasing revenues
    • Leads state regional management team to sharing and exploring new ideas for improvement
    • Lobbies for change in a positive manner with funding agencies
    • Supports the management team in developing new administrative and support delivery models
    • Continually looks for ways to update management skills
    • Promotes and engages in positive relationships with all customers
    • Develops systems to continuously improve the personnel system to support the RISE mission
    • Represents the interests of RISE and the people we support with state agencies, other providers, families and professional organizations
    • Represents the interests of the region at the corporate level
    • Ensures customer satisfaction system in all areas of service
    • Assures that employees comply with the Department of Labor regulations regarding personnel issues to include payroll/compensation issues, employee discipline process and terminations
    • Participates and ensure compliance with all RISE corporate systems, policies and procedures
    • Responsible for preparation of budgets and financial oversight of programs under supervision
    • Demonstrates competency in financial and budgetary procedures including staying within appropriated budgets, maintaining checking ledger, adherence to procedures for payroll, billings, and payables and the ability to instruct staff in these areas
    • Represent RISE in a professional and knowledgeable manner when interacting with people in the community and others associated with RISE.
    • Facilitates monthly management team meetings and communicate with management and team members as requested or needs indicate
    • Ensures performance evaluations are completed annually on all employees
    • Completes all other job related tasks as assigned

    LICENSING REQUIREMENTS

    • Conducts physical visits to all programs and offices with review of all physical plants ensuring safe and nurturing environments
    • Ensures that programs meet all licensing requirements with the highest level
    • Continuously evaluate the quality of supports being provided, while identifying areas that could use improvement

    MANAGEMENT SKILLS

    • Ability to coach, train, and mentor employees, providing positive leadership and team building based on respect, cooperation, and competency; and which embraces the RISE mission, vision, and values
    • Take personal responsibility for actions; this is demonstrated through owning problems, problem solving, and not projecting problems or failures to others or the "system" if not warranted
    • Demonstrate excellence in work standards, is tenacious in completing tasks
    • Ability to effectively problem solve and make decisions to include resolving crisis situations, and developing resolutions between parties
    • Work well with other team members by demonstrating ability to cooperate with others in the group using friendly, cooperative relations in accomplishing mutual goals and preparing assignments on time
    • Ability to delegate and follow-up on projects

    COMMUNICATION

    • Communicate effectively in individual or group situations including demonstrating listening skills. Ability to have crucial conversations in a productive manner with employees and consumers.
    • Ability to communicate with multiple customers including the people receiving support, families, County service coordinators, and community partners.
    • Represent RISE to community, agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Effectively advocate for people receiving support, particularly children and adults with developmental disabilities or those requiring the services of the agency.
    • Ability to communicate effectively in writing using accurate grammatical form and able to read and interpret written information.
    • Ability to write all necessary materials and communications relevant to the position and interpret policies, procedures and other required written material.

    PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS:

    • Must assume seated position at computer or desk for extended periods of time.
    • Ability to perform functions of required computer software.
    • Travel to attend meetings/trainings.
    • This position requires director to carry cell phone at all times (24/7)
    • Ability to work under stressful conditions which may include dealing with difficult people and handling multiple work assignments.
    • Ability to greet the public and use the telephone.
    • Ability to have appropriate interactions and advocate with community and community partners while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.
