Job Overview: We are seeking a full-time Mathematician to join our team in providing essential Cost Estimating Analysis support for the development, fielding, and integration of the MDA Missile Defense System. The role will primarily involve the development and maintenance of Life Cycle Cost Estimates and models for Defense Acquisition programs. Additionally, the position will entail thorough analysis and reporting of cost data, as well as conducting excursions. The ideal candidate will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation and operation of the Missile Defense System through precise cost analysis and estimation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Independently develop, present, and defend mathematical cost estimates, cost estimating relationships, and cost models.
• Utilize applied mathematics, probability, statistics, regression analysis, linear algebra, learning curves, and data collection to develop precise and reliable cost estimating relationships.
• Use Data Analytics to extract and analyze crucial cost data from contractors' DD Form 1921s and Cost Performance Reports/Integrated Program Management Reports (CPR/IPMR) to establish a comprehensive cost database.
• Participate in Business Case Analysis (BCA), Analysis of Alternatives (AOA), and risk analysis, conducting various cost-related studies such as what-if drills, sensitivity analysis, and monte-carlo simulations to develop multiple outputs using input variables.
• Review Cost Analysis Requirements Documents (CARDS) to ensure compliance with established standards.
• Collect and manage cost data, technical baseline data, and conduct comprehensive cost research and analysis.

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Operations Research, Economics, Statistics, Business Analytics, or a related field (Master's Degree preferred).
• Previous experience in Cost Estimating, Budget/Financial Management, Systems Engineering, or Data Analytics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Exceptionally strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Must possess or be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

Desired Experience Requirements:

• Demonstrated knowledge of planning, formulating, and applying DoD Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution System (PPBES) methods to provide valuable insights for decision-making and policy formulation.
• Ability to work independently and conduct strategic high-level coordination activities.
• Proven ability to manage and support multiple complex projects simultaneously.
• Strong proficiency in MS Office, particularly in Excel with advanced functions and pivot tables.
• Familiarity with ACEIT, @Risk, Crystal Ball, or similar parametric and cost risk tools.
• Membership and certification in the International Cost Estimating and Analysis Association (ICEAA) is a plus.
