Responsibilities:

As a Java Developer, you will be responsible for creating and modifying solutions to complex software problems. This includes coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining these solutions. You will actively participate in leading smaller engineering efforts and contribute to larger, enterprise-wide initiatives. Our Engineering teams are challenged to collaborate across departments and divisions to achieve the best outcomes for our customers.

Qualifications:

Experience:

• 3 years of hands-on experience in Java development
• Proficiency in SQL and working with SQL Server databases
• Strong experience with OpenShift, both cloud, and on-prem development (on-prem critical)
• Knowledge of Kafka for efficient event-driven architectures
• Familiarity with version control systems, particularly GitHub
• Experience working on Scrum teams and adhering to Agile methodologies

• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment
• Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to work with team members to find solutions
• Proactive and outspoken, willing to share ideas and contribute to discussions
• Ability to come to the table with proactive solutions and ideas
• Sound knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and industry-standard practices
• Understanding of systems design concepts for security and stability
• Deep knowledge of Operating Systems and/or Application Development Platforms
• Ability to debug code and analyze complex log files for troubleshooting
• Experience with both cloud and on-prem development environments
• Knowledge/experience with test automation
• Ability to query databases for data lookup/update

- Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle process standards and techniques, and appropriate application

- Works on the testing process through test review and analysis, test witnessing and certification of software

- Research, extraction and entry of complex data

- Completes proper unit testing and software code written (including automated unit testing)

- Strong time management skills preferred

- Object oriented design, coding, performance tuning, and unit testing

- Perform such other duties as may be assigned by management

- Logical data modeling design and implementation skills

- Participates in peer code reviews

- Reviews technical requirements, ensuring compliance with business requirements

- Ability to work on multiple tasks simultaneously with various groups both internally and externally
