Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of the meat department, including ordering, receiving, and inventory management
- Ensure proper handling, storage, and rotation of meat products to maintain freshness and quality
- Train and supervise meat department staff on proper food safety procedures and meat cutting techniques
- Collaborate with the culinary team to develop new meat products and recipes
- Monitor and maintain accurate pricing and signage for all meat products
- Provide exceptional customer service by assisting customers with their meat selection and answering any questions they may have
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, following all sanitation guidelines
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food industry, specifically in meat cutting or preparation
- Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices
- Excellent knife skills and ability to cut, trim, and package meat products
- Familiarity with various cuts of meat and cooking methods
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Strong communication and leadership skills to effectively manage a team
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
