GW Mechanical, Inc. in Casper, WY is seeking a plumbing and mechanical estimator, primarily for new commercial construction and renovations with some residential work. This person will prepare accurate estimates for projects by gathering information and analyzing important metrics. They will provide knowledge of the cost and benefits that support profitable business decisions, determine key variables and gather information from sites, blueprints and experience. The estimator must also be thorough and apt in managing relationships with key persons.
Responsibilities:
· Perform estimates from start to completion, utilizing estimation software.
· Obtain bid documents for potential projects.
· Contact vendors for pricing for all estimates, where applicable.
· Attend walk-throughs for potential projects, making note of the geographical features of the site, access to infrastructure (roads, electricity, sewer, etc.) and existing building conditions. Attend pre-bid site inspections and pre-bid meetings as required.
· Take into account all materials, equipment, labor, tools and any other resources needed to complete the job.
· Preparation of bid documentation.
· Maintain electronic and/or paper filling system for all estimates.
· Prepare and present requests for design information and bid qualifications.
· Responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and equipment vendors.
· Remain involved in a project to help maintain the profit margin and to handle any changes in the original estimates.
· In addition to monetary costs, must take into account the duration, scope, and potential profitability of a new project or product.
· Perform contract review to verify alignment with project documents and any negotiations
· Assist with project set up to include submittals, compile subcontracts and general accounting department needs.
· Assist with project close out to include operation and maintenance manuals, and project document requirements.
· Collaborate with project managers through construction processes.
Requirements:
· Proven experience as a plumbing estimator or similar position.

· Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, Bluebeam Revu, Estimation Software.
· Ability to prepare estimates with minimum supervision.

· The ability to manage multiple projects and tasks.
· College degree or training in mechanical engineering and/or journeyman plumbing experience preferred.
