Mechanical Designer designs and creates layouts and documentation for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical building systems that meet project and technical specifications. Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and other specialized software tools to generate detailed layout plans, schematics, and drawings for mechanical systems. Being a Mechanical Designer maintains accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. Incorporates best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. Additionally, Mechanical Designer collaborates with engineers and other project members. May conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations or troubleshoot problems. May require an associate degree in mechanical design, drafting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Designer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Designer/ Engineer with expertise in product design, development and modeling hydraulic systems.
Requirements:
A minimum of an Associate's degree in Design/Drafting or Mechanical Engineering
Minimum of 5 years of design experience
Proficiency in the following software packages: Inventor & Solidworks version 2020 or newer
Experience designing and modeling hydraulic systems
Experience designing mobile and/or ag equipment
Responsibilities:
Initiate and execute the Product Design and Development (PDD) process to ensure product definitions and specifications are met by all stakeholders
Participate in product design meetings including product specifications, material selection, 3D CAD models, and detailed 2D drawings
Collaborate as a member of cross-functional project teams from concept to testing, and ultimately to production
Conduct design for manufacture assessments involving manufacturing expertise
Develop design concepts to meet cost objectives, interface with vendors and suppliers to locate and approve components
Administer design history and practice proper engineering document control processes.
Pay Details: $40.00 to $45.00 per hour
