Mechanical Designer jobs in Kennewick, WA
Mechanical Designer designs and creates layouts and documentation for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and other mechanical building systems that meet project and technical specifications. Uses computer-aided design (CAD) and other specialized software tools to generate detailed layout plans, schematics, and drawings for mechanical systems. Being a Mechanical Designer maintains accurate and complete change and version control on all design files, documents, and drawings. Incorporates best practices to address design space constraints and ensure compliance with industry standards, safety requirements, and building codes. Additionally, Mechanical Designer collaborates with engineers and other project members. May conduct or participate in site visits to inspect installations or troubleshoot problems. May require an associate degree in mechanical design, drafting or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Designer works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Job Description: We're looking for someone to join our insulation team that is looking to work hard and learn the trade! We're seeking an experienced mechanical insulator.
- Measure and cut insulation for covering pipe & equipment using tape measure, knives, and scissors.
- Determine the amount and types of insulation needed, and methods of installation.
- Apply sealants or other protective coatings.
- Run construction equipment like scissor lifts and forklifts.
- Material handling - Moving material around the job site.
- Housekeeping - Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work area on the job.
