A local engineering firm is seeking a Mechanical Designer with 10 years of relevant technological experience. The mechanical designer’s responsibilities include working on drawings from inception to completion. You should be able to work closely with project managers and engineers, analyze feedback from customers, be an adept problem solver, have an excellent eye for design, and be willing to work in a team. Must have experience with Microsoft, Excel, 3D Modeling, and AutoCAD. Will need to have field experience and able to work in industrial facilities.
Responsibilities/Qualifications:
· Education: Associates Degree in Engineering Technology or Computer-Aided Drafting
is required.
· Responsible for performing all aspects for complete design of complex
mechanical/piping assignments using theoretical knowledge and practical design
methods.
· Work with revisions of existing CAD drawings.
· Make revisions to Master Equipment Lists to identify equipment removed from service.
· Provide time estimates for own deliverables.
· Provide support during construction, installation, and commissioning project phases.
· Design calculations related to plumbing and mechanical system design.
· Develop and edit mechanical specifications.
· Must possess a fundamental knowledge of design practices, mechanical drawing
convention and conventional tolerances.
· Possess knowledge and skills in 3D modeling and drafting piping arrangements, P&ID
and mechanical drawings using CAD.
· Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team and interact with staff at various
levels of the organization.
· Must be able to effectively work and communicate with others; and able to follow and
implement complex procedures.
· The ability to manage time and materials within allocated budgets and schedules is
required.
· Strong “attention to detail” experience.
