Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Description:
• Designs new mechanisms, assemblies, components, adaptations, and variations of custom and/or existing machines and investigates alterations of designs to improve both the cost and functional performance of the equipment
• Develops timely and accurate bills of material for all parts and assemblies.
• Determines and documents appropriate equipment lists, spare parts, and inventory to be maintained by the customer to service and run machines.
• Designs and develops specifications on tools, fixtures, and equipment for manufacturing processes.
• Performs engineering calculations to determine loads, stresses, speeds, weights, strengths of materials, statics, dynamics, etc.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
• Must possess a minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
• Must have at least 3 years’ experience in mechanical design of custom machinery or capital equipment
• FEA experience in Inventor; Vault experience (Solidworks will suffice with strong machine design experience)
