    Position Purpose

    The Mechanical/Structural Engineer is driven by the strategic objectives of the business to deliver high-quality, innovative, and safe solutions within the entertainment industry. This role plays a vital part in project execution by performing structural and mechanical analysis to validate custom machinery, structures, and rigging systems. Furthermore, the Mechanical/Structural Engineer collaborates closely with design studios, project management, and external partners from initial concepting to project delivery.

    ·         Engineer existing company assets, industry components, and custom assemblies using hand calculations, proprietary tools, and analysis software.

    ·         Apply national, international, and industry Standards & Codes to projects, meeting specific client requirements.

    ·         Provide timely and accurate analysis results to project design teams, facilitating rapid development and project execution.

    ·         Manage activities of external resources and third-party engineering firms for assigned functions on projects.

    ·         Collaborate with all departments within a design and manufacturing environment.

    ·         Perform comprehensive structural and mechanical analysis on custom machinery, structures, and rigging systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and requirements.

    ·         Collaborate with design studios and project management to develop innovative and effective technical solutions that align with project objectives and exceed client expectations.

    ·         Conduct feasibility studies and contribute to the conceptualization and refinement of designs, offering valuable insights and recommendations based on your expertise in structural engineering.

    ·         Utilize advanced engineering software and tools to model, simulate, and analyze mechanical and structural components, accurately predicting their behavior and performance under various conditions.

    ·         Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team meetings, leveraging your expertise and guidance to ensure efficient project execution and successful delivery.

    ·         Stay updated with the latest advancements and best practices in structural engineering, continuously enhancing your knowledge and skills to drive innovation and improve the quality of deliverables.

    ·         Collaborate with external stakeholders, including architects, third party engineering firms, contractors, and regulatory bodies, to address technical queries, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.

    ·         Perform assigned duties according to the policies and expectations prescribed by the company.

    Minimum Qualifications

    To perform the essential responsibilities, individuals must have the following level of education and experience, or equivalent combination. Additionally, the following certifications, knowledge, skills, or physical requirements are necessary for the position.

    • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
    • EIT (Engineer in Training) certification or PE (Professional Engineer) preferred.
    • 2 years of professional experience, with a focus on structural engineering or stress analysis.
    • Working knowledge of multiple structural engineering topics, including stress and deflection of structures, design for global environmental conditions, connection engineering, aluminum structures, dynamic analysis, and composites.
    • Familiarity with published engineering codes and standards, such as AISC, ADM, ASCE 7, IBC, and others.
    • Proficiency in using beam element analysis software like RISA-3D or equivalent.
    • Thorough understanding of first principles and practical experience applying them to real-world applications.
    • Willingness to work extended hours when necessary to meet project deadlines.
    • Preferred:
      • Familiar with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) principles
      • Exposure to machining, manufacturing, and/or construction industry practices
      • Interest in the performing arts or live event
