Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Summary: Seeking a Mechanical Engineer responsible for designing vessel propulsion and auxiliary systems, piping, and HVAC.
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum of 1 year of shipyard or related ship design experience.
- Knowledge of piping, HVAC, insulation, machinery ventilation, sewage systems, and seawater systems concepts.
- Ability to use computer-assisted engineering software (any CAD system experience).
- Ability to support production and testing activities.
- Familiarity with CFR, ABS, NVIC, and USCG rules and regulations for mechanical and piping systems, along with other applicable regulations.
Pay Details: $27.00 to $36.00 per hour
