Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     Dewberry Nashville, TN office is seeking a Mechanical Engineer, who will be responsible for the design of mechanical building systems as a part of a project team and under the supervision of a senior engineer. Experience in the design of institutional, educational, healthcare, commercial, laboratory or military projects is desired. The candidate should have a proven track record of solid design work, meeting project deadlines and budgets, and working well in a team environment.

     

    The ideal candidate is a PE in the State of Tennessee or able to obtain in the State.  At a minimum candidate should have passed the EI exam and be working toward licensure.

    Required Skills & Required Experience

    • ABET accredited Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
    • Minimum 5 years of experience required with progressive technical experience in the design of electrical systems.
    • EI required; PE is a plus.
    • Self-motivated and well organized.
    • Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
