As a Submarine Mechanical Engineer II, you will:

• Work on a team at the Engineering Services Directorate to provide engineering support for the United States Submarine Force.

• Obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance to work on government sponsored projects in support of submarine special mission deployments.

A week in the life of a Submarine Mechanical Engineer II:

• Develops submarine shipboard alterations.
• Conduct static analyses of mechanical structures.
• Conduct hydrodynamic analyses under a variety of at-sea operational conditions.
• Develop models to predict performance.
• Assist the Design Team with material selection based on in-process stress calculations as well as commercial and/or military specifications.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of design and engineering products
• Interface with customers and government sponsors.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Eligible to obtain a secret clearance

At least 2 years of professional experience in:

• AutoCAD and AutoDesk Inventor or Solidworks
• MATHCAD Engineering Mathematics Software (or similar software)

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to pay transparency for our applicants and employee-owners.  The salary range for this position is $65,000-70,000.
