Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.     We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to work on low-rise and high-rise residential projects in Western USA (Washington, Oregon, California).

    Reporting Structure:  This position will report directly to the Project Manager.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • Review and analyze material costs for purchase
    • Manage change orders and subcontractor invoices
    • Review work orders and shop drawings
    • Confer with the project team, contractors and suppliers to resolve any construction problem
    • Perform tasks directed by the PM in support of project needs
    • Cost estimating and quantity take off

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Diploma or BSc Degree in Engineering, Construction Coordination or related field would be an asset
    • Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, inspection reports, etc.
    • Ability to manage subcontractors and vendors
    • Ability to negotiate and track change orders with both owners and subcontractors
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at a time
    • Ability to meet sensitive timelines
    • Strong knowledge of MS Office suite including MS Excel, and MS Projec
