Mechanical Engineer designs, analyzes, and maintains mechanical components and systems to meet specified requirements and standards. Utilizes technical instruments to develop specifications for new parts, modifications, or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical issues or failures to identify root causes and develop solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. Mechanical Engineer / Draftsman
Actech has been providing customers with quality crushing, screening and conveying equipment & service for over 20 years. Our customers have benefited from custom layouts and collaborative plant design. We are currently hiring a full-time mechanical Engineer/ Drafter to prepare detailed layouts for a wide variety of machinery and mechanical tools and devices.
Engineer/Drafter responsibilities include gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up production methods. If you have hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software and are familiar with building processes, we’d like to meet you.
Ultimately, you’ll help us build functional, secure and well-designed products and structures that meet our needs.
Responsibilities
Liaise with engineers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
Calculate dimensions, weight limitations and requirements in materials
Create detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software, Solidworks, Inventor.
Design diagrams, maps and layouts to illustrate workflow
Prepare and review rough sketches and review them along with the engineering team
Create manuals that describe existing products’ operation, features and maintenance
Requirements
Proven work experience as an Enginner, Drafter or similar role
Hands-on experience with computer-aided design (CAD) software, Solidworks, Inventor
Good math skills
Ability to meet deadlines
BSc in Engineering, Architecture or degree from a technical college
Additional certification is a plus
Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus
Compensation
Compensation is dependent on experience.
