Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Utilizes CAD software and other design and modeling tools to plan, develop, and improve mechanical parts or components and communicate conceptual designs and specifications to stakeholders. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts prototype testing to evaluate the performance, reliability, and safety of mechanical systems and collects and analyzes data for improvements. Analyzes and troubleshoots mechanical issues or failures to identify root causes and develop solutions. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. To be a Mechanical Engineer typically requires 0-2 years of related experience. Day to Day: - Designing truck bodies - Recommend test equipment, procedures, and specifications to support the maintenance and improvement of quality of products - Turn quote and 2D models into 3D and get to production - Participate in continuous quality improvement programs by providing team leadership and technical support - Lead product development teams with management direction, including managing project timelines - Service as engineering contact with local community programs, engineering schools, and professional engineering societies - Utilize finite alignment analysis Hours: must have 9 hours/day between 6am-5pm
