Mechanical Engineer designs, develops, prototypes, and tests all aspects of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery. Develops specifications for new parts or prototypes. Being a Mechanical Engineer identifies appropriate materials and processes to ensure the quality, performance, and manufacturability of products. Uses CAD software and other design and modeling tools to develop and improve parts and products. Additionally, Mechanical Engineer conducts analysis and tests to determine weaknesses and failures in prototypes or products. Requires a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineer work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. BS Mechanical Engineering
Proficiency in Solid Works/Solid Edge Design Environment
Understanding of machine tolerances, GD&T, and NC machine capabilities
Excellent knowledge of aerospace process and assemblies
Experience with aluminum castings, forgings, stainless steel, alloy and steel
5 years of relevant work experience
Preferred Skills:
Background in aerospace engineering
FEA analysis
Experience with Jira, Confluence and BitBucket
Responsibilities:
Design and Analysis of components and subsystems for electro-mechanical systems
Design products, tools, and fixtures to meet product specifications
Prepare test procedures and write test reports, technical proposals
Responsible for all testing requirements, qualification
Compliance to design to customer's specifications
Generate and maintain 3D models using Solid Edge
Pay Details: $25.00 to $33.00 per hour
