Mechanical Engineering Manager manages a team of mechanical engineers designing parts, engines, tools, or other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Designs, scopes, and develops new mechanical engineering initiatives and projects, and manages them through their life cycles. Being a Mechanical Engineering Manager helps establish programs to support training, process improvements, and the creation and maintenance of best practices and protocols. Interfaces with other departments to identify new potential products and projects. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mechanical Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Mechanical Engineering Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Mechanical Engineer II

    As a Mechanical Engineer you will utilize Creo for design software to implement new and improved design solutions on the CTL/SSL equipment for the Chassis Team.  Experience with TeamCenter database manager is a plus.

    Job Description

    • Provide design support for New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
    • Provide support and troubleshooting for Current Production.
    • Investigate, gather and analyze data and implement solutions.
    • Continuous improvements in cost, quality, safety and ergonomics.
    • Non-metalics (plastics) design experience a plus.
    • Some time may occasionally be spent on the production line for trouble shooting as productions problems arise.
    • 5 day work week with in-office minimum of 3-days/week -- additional in-office time may be required for initial training dependent on previous experience.

    Requirements

    • Bachelor's of Science in Engineering or Industrial Technology.
    • Demonstrates a strong mechanical aptitude through work experience or hobbies.
    • Problem solving skills and attention to detail.
    • CAD modeling experience (Creo preferred)
    • Must have a valid Driver’s License.

    Desired Experience

    • Experience in a production environment working with cross functional teams.
    • Interpersonal & communication skills.
    • Familiarity with manufacturing, fabrication, inventory management, supply chain/logistics, or assembly operations.
    • Microsoft Excel proficient.
    • 2 years post education relevant experience.
