Mechanical Engineering Manager manages a team of mechanical engineers designing parts, engines, tools, or other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Designs, scopes, and develops new mechanical engineering initiatives and projects, and manages them through their life cycles. Being a Mechanical Engineering Manager helps establish programs to support training, process improvements, and the creation and maintenance of best practices and protocols.     • Promotes safety in the workplace, quality in our product, improve production efficiency, and implement cost saving activities.
    • Oversees the research and development of new processes and procedures as well as assist implementation of projects.
    • Provides leadership, guidance, coaching, and technical direction to engineers and supporting staff. Sets employee performance objectives, conducts performance reviews and recommends pay actions.
    • Monitors and approves department expenditures and budgets relating to projects and activities.
    • Participates and leads high level cost reduction and product support projects.
    • Provide project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders about strategy, adjustments, and progress
    • Manage contracts with vendors and suppliers by assigning tasks and communicating expected deliverables
    • Utilize industry best practices, techniques, and standards throughout entire project execution
    • Monitor progress and adjust as needed
    • Measure project performance to identify areas for improvement
