Mechanical Engineering Manager manages a team of mechanical engineers designing parts, engines, tools, or other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Designs, scopes, and develops new mechanical engineering initiatives and projects, and manages them through their life cycles. Being a Mechanical Engineering Manager helps establish programs to support training, process improvements, and the creation and maintenance of best practices and protocols. Interfaces with other departments to identify new potential products and projects. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Manager requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Mechanical Engineering Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Hillman Engineering has a qualified in-house team of Project Managers, Inspectors, and Architects ready to offer full services from Project Management, designs, and inspections of structures, sites, and environments.

    The ideal candidate must possess the following:

    • Provide initial construction budgets for analysis and provide periodic budget updates and progress reports for each project.
    • Knowledge of a variety of construction standards, methods, and procedures is desirable.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time, efficiently, accurately, on schedule, and with a high degree of quality.
    • Have exceptional communication and organizational skills and be able to work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive, team environment.
    • Provide support to the Project Management team.
    • Assist in procuring permits and approvals from local authorities.
    • Work with engineers to formalize construction documents.
    • Facilitate the bidding process, receive qualified bids, and prepare bid summary analyses.
    • Review and/or prepare construction contracts.
    • Provide project management assistance throughout the construction process, including problem resolution and dealing with the day-to-day issues of the construction process.
    • Review and respond to all RFI’s.
    • Maintain project schedules.
    • Review all requests for Change Orders and prepare Change Orders.
    • Provide periodic project inspections including pre-construction meetings.
    • Maintain ongoing relationships with contractors and other related parties.
    • Review Pay Applications for accuracy.

    Qualifications:

    • 1 - 3 years’ experience in construction management.
    • A college degree related to construction management, civil engineering, etc.
    • Ability to communicate well both written and verbally.
    • ProCore proficiency certification desirable.
    • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, & Outlook).
    • Salary is commensurate with experience.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
