Mechanical Engineering Supervisor jobs in Massachusetts
Mechanical Engineering Supervisor oversees the designing of engines, tools, and other mechanical equipment and industrial processes. Also responsible for supervising the production, operation, repair and maintenance of equipment. Being a Mechanical Engineering Supervisor may work with other engineering departments to aid in the development and usage of robotics to improve productivity. A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions. Additionally, Mechanical Engineering Supervisor may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working team member that may validate or coordinate the work of others on a support team. Suggests improvements to process, is a knowledge resource for other team members. This individual will be an excellent fabricator, have a high mechanical aptitude and be skilled with a variety of hand and power tools. We prefer someone who sees themselves as a team player with a positive “do-it-yourself” attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Fabrication and production in support of engineering efforts daily
- Janitorial support, machine shop maintenance and grounds keeping
- Maintaining a clean and well organized work environment
- Assisting with wiring, soldering, crimping pins, installing connectors (AC and DC)
- Occasionally assisting with testing, data collection and troubleshooting
Qualifications
- High School Diploma, GED or equivalent preferred
- Strong communication and organization skills
- Electrical experience (wiring, terminals, connectors, harnesses)
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, machine tools, sheet metal tools
- Self-starter, ability to work autonomously with ambiguous work instructions
- Positive attitude, team player
