Essential Job Functions:
Planning and Management: Take charge of planning and managing the Mechanical Design Engineering group, ensuring effective execution of new and existing projects.
Resource Allocation: Ensure the availability of adequate personnel and resources to meet contractually required efforts assigned to the Mechanical Design Engineering Department.
Policy Development: Provide valuable input into the development of overall departmental Policies and Procedures.
Schedule and Budget Adherence: Work collaboratively with Program Managers and Operations to meet engineering schedules and budgets for assigned programs.
Personnel Development: Provide direction, guidance, training, and coaching to engineering personnel, ensuring the department's ability to meet current and future program requirements.
Quality Assurance: Support quality, productivity, standardization, and innovation in new product design within the Mechanical Design Engineering group.
Team Leadership: Guide, develop, and train a team of Mechanical Design Engineers to achieve the engineering department's strategic goals.
Engineering Drawings: Review and approve engineering drawings, holding design approval authority.
Estimation and Scheduling: Provide Basis of Estimate and schedule inputs into current and future projects.
