The Department of Mechanical Engineering (MET) is an innovative and growing department, the only campus in CUNY to offer an associate (AAS) and bachelor’s degree (BTech) in Mechanical Engineering Technology, as well as an associate degree (AAS) in Industrial Design. The four-year bachelor of technology (BTech) degree includes concentrations in Industrial Design, Manufacturing Engineering, and Computer systems Technology, with a strong focus on robotics. The Mechanical Engineering Technology programs are ABET-accredited.

The CLT will support both structural and software implementation, as well as direct faculty and student assistance, as needed, in laboratory settings. The ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends, may be required.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Operate and maintain manual machining equipment, including mill, lathe, materials testing lab equipment, and other related machines.

    • Design and program machining operations through proficient utilization of CAM and Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software, employing programs such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam and Cura.

    • Collaborate with faculty and researchers to support lab activities and projects, providing technical expertise and assistance as needed.
