Mechanical Engineering Technician assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Estimates work load to establish completion dates. Being a Mechanical Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Minimum Requirements:
- BS in Architecture or Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 10 years of experience with building envelope and air barrier construction and testing
- Must demonstrate experience with reviewing testing procedures and testing reports as well as experience with witnessing and evaluating air barrier efficacy
- Experience with military construction and the Unified Facilities Guide Specifications (UFGS) is preferred
- Excellent math skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
- These characteristics are a plus:
- Military Construction experience
- Air Force Installation Experience
- State of Florida experience
- Corps of Engineers experience with Resident Management System (RMS)
