Mechanical Engineering Technician assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Estimates work load to establish completion dates. Being a Mechanical Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Mechanical Engineering Internship
CEMS Engineering, Inc. is searching for Mechanical engineering interns with strong technical abilities, and who express an interest in Building Sciences; specifically, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Systems, Plumbing Systems, Mechanical Utility Systems, and Mechanical Process Systems.
The successful candidate’s responsibilities may include:- Assists senior engineers with routine design
- Prepares mechanical drawings
- Reviews calculations and drawings
- Handles other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Currently enrolled as a Senior in B.S. Mechanical Engineering or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum or equivalent plus appropriate continuing education
- Successfully completed coursework addressing Fluid Mechanics, Thermodynamics and Heat Transfer
- Must be able to coordinate with other engineering teams/disciplines within the firm
- Ability to work independently in a team environment and effectively manage time
- Must be able to work and effectively coordinate with staff in multiple office locations
- Effective time-management, written communication skills, analytical, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications is required
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, decision making capabilities, problem resolution skills, and a sense of initiative are important for this internship
- Ability to work in a team environment is required
- Strong problem solving skills required
Desired Qualifications:- Fundamentals of Engineering (EIT) Registration
- Experience or working knowledge of Revit MEP
