Mechanical Engineering Technician assists mechanical engineers in the planning and testing of mechanical components, equipment, and machinery, such as engines, instruments, controls, robots, machines, etc. Helps prepare proposals and cost estimates. Estimates work load to establish completion dates. Being a Mechanical Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Mechanical Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Operational Responsibilities-
Use of computer aided design to assist in design and drafting. Prepare and update engineering drawings for use in a production setting. Complete documentation of any project involvement.
Supports manufacturing and assembly of current production machines utilizing engineering change orders to resolve build issues in a timely manner.
Required Education, Professional Qualifications and Experience
Associate Degree in Mechanical Drafting and Design
Years of Experience – 2-4 years of experience
Nature of Experience –Creo and AutoCad
Experience working with Mechanical and or Electrical Assemblies that should include creating models, assembly layouts, bill of materials, and production drawings.
Maintain bill of materials and use standardization of parts.
Knowledge of the SAP and Teamcenter systems preferred.
