We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Buyer to join our finance team. The Buyer will play a crucial role in sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing goods and services for Superior. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in procurement, preferably in the industrial or construction with a deep understanding of project-based ERP systems, experience in negotiating terms and conditions with vendors, and a strong ability to drive cost savings while maintaining quality standards.
Responsibilities:
- Source and procure goods and services for the company in accordance with established policies and procedures.
- Improve organizational efficiency by implementing and maintaining a purchase order process.
- Utilize Vista procurement systems to manage the procurement process efficiently and accurately.
- Work closely with operations and finance team members, including project managers, within Superior to achieve cost savings and organizational goals.
- Evaluate, select, and maintain vendors based on quality, cost, reliability, and other relevant factors.
- Monitor and manage vendor rebate programs to maximize rebate potential and ensure compliance.
- Negotiate terms and conditions with vendors to achieve favorable pricing, payment terms, and service agreements.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their procurement needs and requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues or concerns that may arise.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the procurement function.
- Maintain accurate records of procurement activities and expenditures.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and best practices in procurement.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and ethical standards in procurement activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
- 5-7 years of experience in procurement, preferably in the industrial or construction in project-based ERP systems.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively with vendors and secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
